HORNBERGER, Anna Margaretta, born in Frankenthal, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany in 1703; received an exceptional education, pursuing studies at a medical college in France; member of the Reformed Congregation in Frankenthal and a founding member of the Seltenreich Reformed Church in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; mother of twelve; said to be a woman with indomitable energy, a bright mind, varied knowledge, good judgment, and integrity of character, whose advice was frequently sought out by friends and neighbors; died in 1779, probably in Earl Township; interment in Ellmaker Graveyard in Earl Township.
