Born a daughter of Allen Jackson and Rebecca Evelyn Brooks Adkins, she married Hunter Dale Powers on Aug. 18, 1935, in Wyoming County, W.Va. He died on May 11, 1973, in Peoria.

She also was preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two sons-in-law.

Surviving are eight daughters, Betty Aby, Charlotte Craig, Rebecca Babcock, Rita (Dave) Sauder, Bonnie Graham, Billie (Robert) Jordan, Loretta (Fred) Jackson and Kathryn (Travis) Dickey; two sons, Tom (Cheryl) Powers and Raymond Powers; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Alta Cook, Inez Cook, Opal Francis, Janet Pruitt and Audie O'Brien.

She was a homemaker.
