Claude Pickrel Sr., 79, of 709 Platte Ave., York, died Tuesday evening at York General Hospital where he was admitted Dec. 17.
Born June 19, 1890, south of Waco he had spent his lifetime in that community and in York. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Pickrel and was a retired farmer.
On Dec. 10, 1911, he and Lula A. Bennett were married in York. Mr. Pickrel had been in failing health for several years.
Surviving besides his widow are four sons, Claude Jr., and Russell, both of York, Raymond, Englewood, Colo., and Robert, Beatrice; one daughter, Mrs. B. C. (Betty) Kupper, Ogalala, ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.
