Otho Doty, who lived with his daughter Mrs. Leslie Davis, 128 S. Cottonwood, died at Newman Hospital at 6:00 pm Monday evening.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o"clock Saturday afternoon at Roberts, Blue, Barnett Chapel. The Rev. Stephen J. Williams, pastor of the First Congregational Church will have charge of the services with the burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Neosho Rapids.
Mr. Doty, son of the late Daniel and Louisa Miller Doty was born April 7, 1879 in Neosho Rapids. He married Katheryn Tierney in Wichita November 27, 1907. She died January 16, 1931. Mr. Doty moved to Emporia from Neosho Rapids in September, 1947. He is survived by his daughter and two sons, Lute D,. Clovis, New Mexico and O.K. Belden, New Mexico. Also surviving are two brothers, S.A. Doty of Lebo and M.R. Doty, Delta, Colorado and a sister Mrs. Carrie Hendrickson, Escelante Forks, Colorado. Two granddaughters Mrs. Nelson Coffelt, 636 Washington Street and Mrs. Kenton Whittington, 622 W. 6th Avenue, Emporia. One grandson Tom Doty, Belden, New Mexico and 2 great-grandchildren, Charles, Daniel and Terry Coffelt. He was preceeded in death by one brother who died July 25, 1955.
He was a member of the Methodist Church at Neosho Rapids and the Masonic Lodge at Hartford.
