Taken from the text of Haddock Heritage, Second Edition, pub 2003: In abstract, in 1771, Andrew Haddock's deed was listed in Tryon Co., NC. That area was later a part of Caswell County, but for awhile may have been a part of Lincoln Co., NC. [Ref: Land patent 1771: pages 552 - 553]: Andrew Haddock of Tryon County, to Michael Keller of same county. Property was paid for with 20 pounds of proclamation money ... land on north side of fork Catawba, adjacent Ramsour's property, 150 acres granted to said Haddock on 4th May 1769 ... German signature [seal] Witness: John Dickson, James Dickson, Rec. Jan Term 1772. The Ramsour family was later listed as being in Lincoln County, NC, and lived near what is known today as King's Mountain. They likely never moved - the county lines changed.

In 1771, Andrew was listed in Tryon Co., NC, which later became a part of Caswell County, but for awhile may have been a part of Lincoln Co., NC. When Tryon Co., NC, was dissolved, the land that had been a part of Tryon was placed in three or four different counties. Most of it ended up as part of Rowan and Lincoln. The land that Andrew Haddock owned seemed to all have fallen in Lincoln County.]

1777, Andrew Haddock's name appeared in Caswell Co., NC. In the Caswell Deed Books, dating up to 1817, there was a listing for Andrew Haddock who went with Hugh Dobbin to William Hall to give him full possession of the plantation slave, Dobbin, that he sold to Hall. The agreement of consideration was reached on transfer, 10 Oct 1777. [Ref: Slavery records: Deed Book A, page 26]

Andrew Haddock [Ref: Reference: North Carolina State Records, Clark, Vol. XVI], 1782-1783, [Ref: page 54] Name and Rank: Haddock, Andrew, Sgt. who enlisted in Company: Reid's regiment for a period of 2½ years. Discharged on the 8th of April 1778. [Ref: Pierce's Register: Volume X, page 239, # 310]. To whom granted and rank was Andrew Haddock, Sergeant, 429 acres for service of 36 months. The location and to whom deeded and date of warrant was within the limits of the lands allotted the officers and soldiers of the Continental Line, by Law, 1783, Oct. 14: Nov. 25: Henry Williams, granted land to Andrew Haddock.

Halifax, North Carolina, from 1st Sept. 1784 to the 1st Feb. 1785, and at Warrenton in the year 1786, designates claims. Number 134: "Andrew Haddock".

Richard and Andrew Haddock served from the same company. Soldiers of the North Carolina Continental Line. Haddock, Andrew, Sergeant. Lytle's Co., 1782, service for 18 months, and Haddock, Richard, private, Lytle's Co., 1782, service of 18 mos. Col Archibald Lytle's Company may have had men in a wide range of distance because there were also some names of men in his regiment from Pitt, Onslow, Wake and Halifax Counties, NC. One record stated that there was a Lytle's Regiment of Levies (Caswell County), 1778.

In the year of 1784 Andrew Haddock paid taxes in Caswell Co., NC.
