B. F. "Bill" Arney, 75, of Battle Creek, Iowa, was born Aug. 13, 1905, in Calhoun, Iowa, and passed away on July 14, 1981. Burial was in the Mt Hope Cemetery, Battle Creek, Iowa.

He had lived in the Battle Creek community since 1936, and prior to that, he lived in Sioux City, Iowa, and Sioux Falls, S.D. He operated Spotts Hardware at Battle Creek, Iowa. In 1956, he purchased the Blue Eagle Lanes at Holstein, Iowa, which he operated until his death.

He married Ferne Spotts. She died in 1948. He married Maxine Sexton in 1951.

He was a retired member of the Battle Creek Fire Department.

Survivors include the wife, a son, Terry, of Morristown, N.J.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Charles (Janice) Wolterman of Danbury, Iowa; a sister, Jean Bandy of Wicksburg, Arizona; 3 grandchildren and two Stepgrandchildren.
