Oct 13, 1961 - Carroll Daily Times - William Hoesing, 85, Carroll, died about 5 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at St. Anthony Hospital, where he had been a patient for ten days. He had been in failing health for several years. Requiem mass will be read by the Very Rev. Msgr. Edward V. Vollmer at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at St. Lawrence Church. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Saturday. The rosary will be recited at 8 and 9 p.m. Saturday; and at 3, 8 and 9 p.m. Sunday. Msgr. Vollmer will lead the 8 p.m. rosaries both days.

Mr. Hoesing, a son of Henry and Catherine Hoesing, was born at Menominee, Neb., April 28, 1876. As a young man he came to Carroll County, settling near Halbur. He was married to Anna Krogman at Holy Angels Church, Roselle, on Jan. 11, 1898, the late Fr. Fry officiating. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Hoesing moved to a farm near Halbur, remaining there until 1939 when they retired and moved to Carroll. Mrs. Hoesing died Oct. 10, 1950.

Surviving are his children: Mrs. Leona Venteicher, Omaha, Neb.; Mrs. Cy (Christine) Bishop, Carroll; Mrs. Roy (Josephine) White, Mapleton; Mrs Matt (Eleanor) Kuker, Carroll; Lawrence Hoesing, Mapleton; Louis Hoesing, Battle Creek, Mich.; Henry Hoesing, Santa Monica, Calif.; and Edgar Hoesing, Carroll; 27 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; four brothers: Henry Hoesing, Lodi, Calif.; Ed and Ted Hoesing, Crofton, Neb.; and Anthony Hoesing, Fremont, Neb.; and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Witte, Orient, S.D.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Hoesing was preceded in death by one son Bernard; his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
