Frands is the son of Frands Peter Peterson and Inger Kjerstina Christensen Peterson
Married Anna Christina Pearson Peterson in 1902, in the Manti Temple. Anna died in 1910 leaving him with three children to care for. In 1912 he married Ruth Elizabeth Adams of Kanab. She had one child by a previous marriage. Their family consisted of Beatrice, Ernel, Arvilla, Ara (Lizzy's child), Glen, Ruth (Babe), and Thad.
