Funeral service for the late John Morgan was held March 2nd from St. James Anglican Church in Hines Creek with Reverend Comerford as organist.
Mr. Morgan, a pioneer farmer of the Hines Creek area who was born November 14th, 1883 at Huntsville, Utah, passed awway at the Fairview Hospital February 26th at the age of 83 years, 3 months, and 12 days.
He came over the Edson Trail before the First World War, settled in Bezanson and returned to the United States for a few years, afterward returning and settling in Clear Prairie in 1921. Mr. Morgan moved to Hines Creek in 1930 and farmed until his retirement in 1946.
Mr. Morgan was united in marriage with Mary Elizabeth Coon, July 20th, 1932. Mr. Morgan leaves to mourn his wife Mary; two daughters Mrs. Lillian Bjornson of Eureka River and Mrs. Jean Yaremchuk of Peace River; three step-sons Wilson, Charles and Lester Coon all of Hines Creek; one sister Mrs. Nellie Knauss of Peace River; two brothers- Wes of Edmonton and Frank of Penticton, B.C.; 16 grand-children and 2 great grandchildren. He also leaves a number of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews to mourn his loss.He was predeceased by a step-son, Adrian, in 1944; his twin brother Harry in 1960; and a brother Joe several years ago, also by three sisters.
Honorary pallbearers were B. Basnett, B. Mitchell, B. Gunn, A. Griep, A. Vass and C. Reynolds. Active pallbearers were J. McGeaughay, A. Patton, E. Blake, C. Driver, T. Walker and E. Ducharme.
Interment was in the Hinterland cemetery and arrangements were by Moran's Funeral Home of Fairview.
