Deloris Asche, 93 of Leigh, Nebraska, died Thursday, November 13, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Clarkson, Nebraska.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 17, at 10:30 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Leigh with Pastor Theresa Meyer officiating. Interment will be in the Leigh City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus, and continue on Monday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Monday at 10:15 AM also at the church.
Deloris Asche was born May 22, 1915, in Leigh, Nebraska to Baltz and Helena (Rudersdolf) Heitz.
She graduated from Leigh High School in 1933 and was married to Edwin Wurdeman.
Deloris was a beauty operator in Leigh prior to her marriage to Harry Asche on January 20, 1955, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus.
They made their home on the Asche farm where Deloris enjoyed gardening, cooking, and taking care of her family.
Deloris was active in different extension clubs and the LCW group at St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed doing embroidering, reading, playing cards, and shopping for hats.
