She was the wife of Hoy Gouge, who departed this world in 1996, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage.
Born in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Gilbert and Eurie Bicking Cann.
She was a graduate of Goldey Beacom College, Wilmington, Del. For many years, she was a secretary at Esco Cabinet Co., West Chester. She and her late husband owned and operated Kennett Auction Company, Kennett Square.
She was a member of West Grove Presbyterian Church, Wet Chester Business & Professional Club, West Grove Senior Citizens and a life member of Ladies Auxiliary and West Grove Fire Company.
She was especially fond of Phillies baseball, participating in her various clubs and entertaining her friends. Her greatest pleasure, however, came from devoting her entire life to her husband, son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandson.
She will be missed the the many lives she touched and especially by her son and duster-in-law, Gil and Debbie Gouge, of Elkton, Md.; her grandchildren, Keith and Scott Gouge' great grandson, Austen Andres Gouge; and her special friend, nancy Crawford.
She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kimberly Gouge.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 9, at the West Grove Presbyterian Church, 139 W. Evergreen St., West Grove.
Friends and Family may call from 7 to 9 p.., Thursday May 8, at the Foulk Funeral Home Inc., 200 Rose Hill Road, West Grove, 610-869-2685, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Interment will be in Union Hill cemetery, Kennett Square.
