FLOY J. BEHLING
Floy Johnston Behling of St. George, a retired horticulturist, died Friday in a Charleston hospital.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in St. George United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Bryant Funeral Home, will be in St. George Cemetery.
Mrs. Behling was born April 1, 1899, in St. George, a daughter of Preston Cornelius Johnston, Jr. and Virginia Louise King Johnston. She was a graduate of St. George High School and attended Lander College. She was active in the Lowcountry Camelia Association and had a camelia named after her. She was a member of the Entre-nous Bridge Club, the Thursday Afternoon Book Club, the Green Garden Club and the Klan Johnston'e of America. She was a member of St. George United Methodist Church and was the widow of Dr. Allen Smith Behling.
Surviving are two daughters, Doris A. Bruce and Floy R. McCue, both of Charleston; two sisters, Marguerite Wood and Anne L. Bailey, both of Charleston; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. (This information is wrong. Doris Bruce & Floy McCue were Floy's granddaughters).
