DODGE CITY - Archie D. "Dan" Myers, 79, died Nov. 9, 2005, at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.

He was born April 17, 1926, in Plains, the son of Paul Archie and Carrie Inez Malone Myers. He was raised on a farm near Plains and graduated from Plains High School. He worked for Michigan-Wisconsin Pipeline of Meade from 1954 to 1983. He then moved to Dodge City and worked for Gibson's until 1989, then working as a maintenance man for New Chance, retiring in 1996.

He attended First Christian Church and was a member of the Howard Gotschall Post No. 1714 Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Dodge City. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

On Feb. 24, 1951, he married . . . She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, . . . ; a daughter, . . . ; three brothers, . . . ; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Olive Yvonne Alder.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, with Mr. Larry Williams presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Meade, with military rites by Howard Gotschall Post No. 1714, VFW.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Ronald McDonald House, in care of the funeral home.
