Joshua Lee Ahlin
1978 - 2008
VETERAN

Joshua Lee Ahlin, 30, went to the great wilderness in the heavens early Sunday morning, Oct. 19, 2008, following an accident in Noxon.

Joshua was born April 1, 1978, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Robert and Colleen Ahlin. From the moment he arrived, he was loved dearly by his parents and older sister, Rachel.

Soon after his birth, Joshua and his family moved to Missoula, where he was delighted by the birth of his sister, Amy. The family was inseparable and Robert and Colleen shared their love of the great outdoors with Joshua and the rest of the family.

The outdoor life inspired Joshua and it became his passion. Joshua began hiking, fishing and learning to hunt at a very young age. Even before Joshua was old enough to hunt, he would tag along on hunting trips with anyone he could in the hope of getting in on the action.

Joshua attended and graduated with honors from Missoula's Big Sky High School in 1996.

Following high school graduation, Joshua joined the U.S. Navy to serve his country. Upon returning home, he once again longed to be in the great outdoors. He spent the last nine years of his life working for Wayne Hill at Wayne Hill Outfitting in Noxon. Joshua helped many hunters fulfill their dream of a memorable and exciting hunting experience. In the off-season, Joshua made his home in Pocatello, Idaho, where he lived with his life partner and wife of five years, Cynthia Atkinson.

Josh is survived by his wife, Cynthia; his parents, Robert and Colleen; sisters, Rachel (Derek Laine) and Amy (Josh Geffre); and niece, Mikayla; along with many cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.
