Mildred V. BURKETT, 90, formerly of 916 Monroe St., died at 1:30 a.m. today at Life Care Center of Rochester.
She was born in Bunker Hill to Harley H. and Frances PRIESER HAGGERTY. On April 24, 1925 in Cassopolis, Mich., she married Walter L. BURKETT, who died in June 1978. She worked at The Book Store until her marriage. She was a Rochester High School graduate and member of the Richland Center United Methodist Church, where she was pianist and organist all her married life. She was honored for 50 years of service as organist in 1977. She was a charter member of the Fulton County Chorus, member of the Richland Center Rebekah Lodge, Fulton County Republican Women and the Grace United Methodist Church, Rochester.
Surviving are three sons, Dick BURKETT, Don BURKETT and Jerry BURKETT, all of Rochester; a granddaughter, Jeralyn FENSTERMAKER, Rochester; six grandchildren, Dave BURKETT, Randy BURKETT, Bill BURKETT and Mike BURKETT, all of Rochester, Pat BURKETT, Plymouth, and Jay BURKETT, Indianapolis; two sisters, Joan BUNN and Jean WALTERS LEWIS, both of Rochester; thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Louise MILLER and brother, Roy HAGGERTY.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, with Rev. David MILLS officiating. Burial will be at the Richland Center Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and for one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Cancer Society.
