Tribune Intermountain Wire
BOUNTIFUL—Thirty descendants of Mr. Martha Ashby Burningham of Bountiful honored her on her eightieth birthday anniversary Saturday evening at a surprise party and dinner at her home.

Mrs. Burningham, who has resided in Bountiful for approximately 48 years, was born at what is now West Bountiful on September 26, 1861, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Ashby. She was married to James Burningham in the old Salt Lake Endowment house on September 27, 1883. Mr. Burningham died in 1913.

Six years later, her son and dauphter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Burningham, died, leaving four children. Mrs. Burningham, in addition to her own children, also reared these four orphans.

Mrs. Burningham, who has served as a teacher in the Bountiful Second L D S ward Relief Society for nearly 45 years; is an ardent gardener and her flowers are her pride.

She was a member of the Daughters of the Pioneers, Kimball Camp, at Bountiful, until it was divided one year ago. She now belongs to the new Ann Roberts camp at Bountiful. Two of her four sons and daughters are living, Mrs. David Robbins of Kaysville and Briant Burningham of Salt Lake City. She has 15 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.
