Sarah A. Brown Wilkinson Dies
Was Among Settlers of Hoytsville, Summit County
Sarah Ann Brown Wilkinson died this morning at 12:15 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James H. Jensen, in Wilson lane. She was born on December 21, 1851, in Nottingham, England. She entered the L. D. S. church and came to the United States with her parents 67 years ago. They lived in St. Louis for seven years. They then joined the pioneers and came to Hoytsville, Summit county, where they lived until 1904. In 1871 she married William Charles Wilkinson in the Endowment house in Salt Lake. In 1904, after the death of the father, the family moved to Blackfoot, Ida., and came to Ogden in 1910.
She was the mother of 13 children, of whom the following six survive: Mrs. Alonzo Winters, William Charles Wilkinson of Hoytsville, Horace E. Wilkinson of Wendell, Ida., Joseph Wilkinson of Ogden, Albert Wilkinson of Blackfoot and Mrs. James H. Jensen. She is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mylo M. Brown of Midvale, Enoch Brown of Ogden, Mrs. Charles H. West, Benjamin Brown of Hoytsville, Mrs. George H. Harris of Carey, Ida. Twenty-six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Wilkinson was a worker in the L. D. S. Relief Society and also a member of the ward choir.
The body is now at the Malan funeral home and will be taken to Hoytsville on Friday morning, where funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock. Interment will be in the Hoytsville cemetery. Flowers may be left at Malan's until 7 o'clock Friday morning.
