Thomas Franklin Spotts, 66, son of Abram I. and Maude Spotts, of Battle Creek, Iowa, died Tuesday, January 1, 1980, at the Veterans Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, of a brief illness. Tom was born on May 21, 1913. Services were held in the Christensen Funeral Home at Battle Creek with Rev D. Stanley Tyner officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Battle Creek.
He received his education in the Battle Creek Public Schools. He was a lifelong resident. He was a welder for the Santa Fe Railroad in Wells Nevada before enlisting in the US Army in World War II in 1942. After completing military service, he worked for Bill's Radiator Shop, Johnson Oil Co. and Huss Plumbing and Heating in Battle Creek.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Myra Kendall of Reno, Nevada; a brother, Elwood of Woodbine, Iowa; and one aunt, Mary Wills of Carroll, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
