Abram I. Spotts, son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Spotts, was born at Mechanicsburg, Pa., January 20, 1873, and passed away on May 19, 1913, from being struck by lightning during a storm.

Services were held at the home, and the K. of P. Lodge conducted the exercises at the grave. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Battle Creek, Iowa.

He came to Iowa when a child, with his father. His mother died when Abram was a child in Pennsylvania.

He married Maude McGee April 28, 1899, To this union were born 8 children, Annie Margaret, Lucile Bertha, Myra Josephine, Abram Elwood, Nellie May, Grover Bryant, Charles Edward, and an infant born 2 days after the death of the father.

Survivors include the wife and children; John F. Spotts, his father; 7 half brothers, 3 half sisters, and many relatives and friends.

Mr. Spotts was a member of the I.O.O.F and K. of P. Lodges.
