Douglas O. Bertram age 91, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at the Scott County Hospital in Oneida. He was born on July 5, 1915 in the Rugby Community in Morgan County to the late Spenser Bertram and Nettie Meese Bertram. Douglas was a Veteran of the U. S. Navy and he was a Member of the Pleasant Home Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Emma Bertram; (1) Infant Son; Brothers: Curtis Bertram, Othnel Bertram and Clifford Bertram; and (1) Sister: Flora Shelley.

He is survived by (9) Sons: George Bertram and wife Wilma, Marshal Bertram and wife Sheila, Leonard Bertram and wife Thelma all of Robbins, Tennessee; Jackie Bertram and wife Azel of Clarkson, Michigan, Dicky Bertram and wife Jane of Elgin, Tennessee, Claude Bertram and longtime friend Betty of Robbins, Tennessee, Johnny Bertram and wife Carol, Terry Bertram and wife Jacquetta all of Rugby, Tennessee and Carl Jones and wife Judy of Elgin, Tennessee; (3) Daughters: Judy Coats and husband Norman of Robbins, Tennessee, Ann Goodman and husband Larry of Oneida, Tennessee and Sue Bauswell and husband Paul of Robbins, Tennessee; (1) Brother: Ray Bertram and wife Jean of Elgin, Tennessee; (2) Sisters: Hattie Fletcher and Nasha Letner and husband Ralph all of Rugby, Tennessee; Sisters-in-law: Gertrude Moss and Sarah Myrick; (27) Grandchildren; Numerous Great Grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

The Family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 P.M., Friday Evening, August 18, 2006 until time of funeral services at 8:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Huntsville with Bro. Hubert Terry Officiating. Music will be provided by Linda King. Grave side services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday Morning, August 19, 2006 at the Laurel Dale Cemetery in the Rugby Community.

Pallbearers will be the Sons.
