Lida Olive (Bright) Smith
Elwood--Mrs Lida Olive Smith, 79, widow of Ara Smith, 1805 So. Sheridan St., died at her home at 4 am Sunday following two weeks illness.
The body was taken to the Clark Chapel and later returned to the residence, where friends may call. Funeral services will be conducted at the United Christian Church at 2:30p.m. Tuesday with the Rev Ross Webb and Rev Wayne Benefiel in charge. Burial will be in the Elwood City Cemetery.
Surviving are four daughters
Mrs Dessie Beard, Deputy Mrs Lida Cox, Mrs Mildred Groman, and Mrs Gertrude Kelly, all of Elwood; six sons, Homer, Charles, William, Carl, and Riley all of Elwood; two sisters, Mrs Ellen Jones and Mrs Dollie Schrock, Elwood. There are 49 grandchildren and 56 great grandchildren.

Mrs Smith was born Feb 19, 1876 in Little Rock, Ark, a daughter of Winfield and Mattie Bright and married Mr Smith in 1895. He died in 1946. She was a member of the United Christian Church.

Lida married James Franklin Grandstaff 19 Aug 1891 and had a daughter Bertha b abt 1894.
