TAHLEQUAH - Rosie Edwards Ballard was born on July 21, 1943 to Tom and Sendy Edwards, in Tahlequah. She departed this life on Monday, Oct. 13, 2008 at the age of 65 years, 2 months and 22 days.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Delbert Edwards; and sister Nadine Christie.
She is survived by her husband, Howard, of the home; two daughters: Tina Murphy and husband, Leo, of Tahlequah, and Rhonda Bluebird and husband, Anthony, of Clewiston, Fla.; one son, Gary "Bubby" Ballard and wife, Clara, of Okmulgee; five grandchildren: Alan Murphy and wife, Lucy, Kristy Murphy, Melanie Franklin, Joshua Ballard Johnson and Matthew Bluebird; two great-grandsons: Dylan and Kasiah Murphy; four sisters: Lorene Adams and husband, Carl, Sandy Lankford and husband, Lonnie, Linda Earp and husband, Barney, and Brenda Fears, all of Tahlequah; four brothers: J.D. Edwards, of Hulbert, Jack Edwards and wife, Elouise, of McPherson, Kan., Harold Edwards and wife, Velta, of Durant, Larry Edwards, of Oklahoma City; and one special friend, Molly Deerinwater.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at the Reed-Culver Funeral Home with Brother Billy Dallis officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Leaf Cemetery.
