Aged Pioneer Laid to Rest Thursday

Funeral services were held this afternoon for
Hannah Gellerman, 90, who passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alice Pedersen on Monday afternoon. Services were held from the Christian church in Vale with interment in the Vale Cemetery. Peterson's of Payette had charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Gellerman was born in Hanover, Germany in 1844, and came to this country as a girl of 7. She was married at
Bonnaville, Iowa, and in 1863 she crossed the plains to Nevada, the young couple settling at Austin, Nevada, where her husband worked in the mines there. Later they accumulated several cows and went into the dairy business, furnishing fresh milk to this early mining center.

When the Oregon country opened up, they came to Vale, in 1879, taking up land three miles above Vale where they engaged in the stock business for many years. Mr. Gellerman
passed away March 4, 1921, and since that time Mrs. Gellerman had been living with her daughters. For the past year she has made her home with Mrs. Alice Pederson of Payette.

Surviving are five daughters: Mrs. Pederson of Payette; Mrs. W. B. Scott of Vale; Mrs. I. W. Hope of Vale; Mrs. D. C. Booth of Ontario; Mrs. Sim Loveland of Boise; 27 grand children and 24 great grand children.
