The Friday, November 22, 1912 edition [page 10] of the Montgomery [AL] Advertiser included:

George Washington Conner, 65 years old, died at 1:30 o'clock Thursday morning at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. W. F. Stough, of 821 Palmetto Street, after an illness of short duration. Mr. Conner had been in this city six months. He was from Greenville, Ala. The funeral services were held at 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon from the residence of his daughter. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Mr. Webster, pastor of the Forest Avenue Methodist Church, officiated.

Mr. Conner is survived by four sons, H. H. Conner, S. D. Conner and C. E. Conner of Montgomery, and G. R. Conner of Prattville; three daughters, Mrs. W. F. Stough, of Montgomery; Mrs. J. C. Coker, of Prattville, and Mrs. A. D. Langley, of Birmingham.

The following acted as pallbearers: I. A. Kent, W. D. Witt, T. M. Connal, J. B. McFadden, J. H. Baxter and Charles Straus.
