After being confined in St Elizabeth hospital for seventeen months Mrs Bridget Halpin died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, her death resulting from the infirmities of age. She was born in Ireland seventy-eight years ago and had lived in Lafayette for sixty years. She was the widow of Michael Halpin, who was in the employ of the late Martin L Peirce for a great many years. Mrs Halpin lived for a ong time on North Ninth street on the site of the new high school building. She was a devout member of St Mary church and her religion was exemplified in her every day life. She will be remembered by many as a most excellent woman, kindly and sympathetic and warmly regarded by everyone who knew her. She leaves a son, William Edward Halpin, of this city, and a sister, Mrs Patrick Connely, of Chicago. The remains were taken to the Soller-Harrington parlors to be prepared for burial. The funeral will be conducted Saturday morning at 9 o'clock from St May's church and the interment will be in St Mary cemetery.
