He resided in Caddo County, Oklahoma prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on November 12, 1941, prior to the war, at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Farm Hand and also as Single, without dependents.

B-17 #42-3179, while on a bombing mission, was shot down by enemy flak and crashed near Ragusa, Sicily during the war.

Billie was "Killed In Action" in this crash.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred overseas and was later repatriated here on July 27, 1948.
