Thomas "Tom" Yates Marlowe
Thomas Yates "Tom" Marlowe, age 91, of Marion, N.C., passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 26, 2008 at his residence.
A native of McDowell County, he was born on March 13, 1917 to the late Thomas Lee Marlowe and Dorothy Haynes Marlowe.

Tom was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church and was retired from the NC Department of Transportation following over 19 years of service. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps having served during WWII.
Tom will be lovingly remembered for his unbending love and devotion to the Lord, his wife and his children.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Anna Miller Marlowe; four children, Brenda M. Hopper and her husband Randy of Marion, Mary M. Williams and her husband Thomas of Marion, Peggy M. Hicks and her husband Sam of Marion and Gary W. Marlowe and his wife Teri of Nebo; two sisters, Rebecca Bristol and Dorothy Norton, both of Marion; ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tom wanted the celebration of his Homegoing to be a time of rejoicing and praising the Lord, which will occur on Monday, September 29, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with Revs. Dean Silver, Mr. Gary Marlowe and Rev. Ken Burleson presiding and will include military honors conducted by the U. S Air Force. At other times the family will be at the home.
Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery.
