ALBERT DIXON, third child of JACOB AND NANCY (DARBY) DIXON, was born 7 Dec 1825 in Greene County, Ohio. He was about 2 years old when his parents moved to Warren County, Indiana, where they lived several years before moving southwestward to Missouri, in about 1838/9. He married ELLEN "Nellie" BEASON, on 5 Aug 1848 in Polk County, Missouri. The vows were read by D.R. MURPHY, a minister of the gospel. Ellen was born 3 Dec 1830 near Williamsport, Warren County, Indiana, daughter of NATHAN (a twin) AND SARAH (TURNER) BEASON. She was the granddaughter of THOMAS AND MARY BEASON. In the spring of 1846, ELLEN, her parents and family formed a wagon train with the JESSE ENDICOTT family, and others, traveled several hundred miles which ended in Cedar County, Missouri. ALBERT and ELLEN settled in rural Dunnegan. (The town of Dunnegan is in Polk County, Missouri., but where they lived was in Cedar County, Missouri.) This is where all 14 of their children were born, including 3 sets of twins. On 20 Jun 1857, ALBERT received a U.S. Land Grant for forty acres in Jefferson Twp. 34, Sec 2, Range 25.
ELLEN died of tuberculosis on 13 Jun 1890 at age 59. ALBERT lived to enjoy his inheritance from his father's estate, as some of it was settled in 1884. ALBERT was a farmer. He died on 12 Aug 1895 at age 69. They are buried in the little Tinker Cemetery near Humansville, Polk County, Missouri, but near the Cedar County line. Nearby are the graves of 4 of their children, his parents, sister and other family members.
