Ephiam Beason was the fifth child of Nathan and Sarah (Turner) Beason. He married Catherine Kochel on January 16, 1843 in Williamsport, Warren County, Indiana. (Bk 1 PG 470)
She was the daughter of Henry Kochel.
To this union seven children were born Silas, Joseph, Katherine, Sarah, Ephriam, Eliza and Hariet.
In 1846 the Beason and Endicott families left Indiana and traveled by wagon train to Cedar County, Missouri. In 1850 they move to Osceola, St. Clair County, Missouri.
On August 25, 1863 the families were given the Civil War Order No. 11 by General Thomas E. Ewing to leave the area within 15 days. All Confederate sympathizers must evacuate their homes and leave the territory. This information is from the Family Genealogy of the Beason's by Steve Beason.
It is not known where some of these families went, but in 1872 Ephaim and Catherine are on a farm near Hamburg, Iowa. In January Catherine fathers Henry Kochel estate was settled and she was paid $68.00. (This record is found in Williamsport, Warren County, Indiana.)
They live out their days in Hamburg. Emphiam died of Tuberculosis in 1892 and Catherine died from a heart condition 1899. Both are buried in Hamburg Cemetery.
We placed a new stone on their grave 2018. They had waited 126 years.
