RITES HELD FOR DELMAR STEPHENS

Delmar Owens Stephens, 69, died at 11 p.m., Friday in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital, following a heart attack. Mr. Stephens was born June 6, 1884 in Bennington, the son of Charles and Elenore Stephens.

Mr. Stephens operated a farm at Bennington. He had resided at Montpelier since 1918. He and Celia Raymond were married June 5, 1918 in the L. D. S. Temple, Salt Lake City. Preceding him in death were his wife, September 11, 1940, and son, age 5, November 4, 1931.

Surviving are a daughter, Marjorie Stephens of Montpelier, a son, Frank D. Stephens of Idaho Falls, two sisters, Mrs. Ella Nate of Boise and Edna Stephens of Montpelier; and four brothers, Thomas N. Stephens of Salt Lake City, George A. Stephens, John E. Stephens and Bert E. Stephens, all of Montpelier.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, in the Montpelier Third ward chapel with Bishop John H. Teuscher conducting. The opening song, "Come Unto Me", was by the Bennington trio, Samuel Hall, Mrs. Conover Wright and Mrs. Wilson Weaver, with Mrs. Lester Armatage, accompanist; remarks, Bishop Teuscher; speaker, President Silas L. Wright; song, "Thy Will Be Done", Mrs. Ed Grosjean; speaker, President Elmer S. Burgoyne; vocal solo, "In My Father's House Are Many Mansions", Roger D. Burgoyne; benediction, Robert Harding of Salt Lake City.

Interment was in the Montpelier cemetery and the grave was dedicated by Earl Stephens. The Matthews Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
