Benny Burton, 59 of Symrna, passed away March 27 at his home in Symrna. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served in Vietnam. He enjoyed spending his time in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Mossie Burton; sisters, Marie Carden, Elizabeth Sharp, and Ann Halcomb; brother, Jimmy Burton.

He is survived by son, Joshua Burton of Nashville, daughter, Racheal Burton of Nashville; step-son, Robert Milbauer of Nashville; brother, Johnny Burton and
wife, Wanda of Lake City; sisters, Charlene Langston of Clinton, Wanda Cox and husband, Frank of LaFollette, Sue Foust and husband, Lawrence of Lake City, Janie Shepherd of Symrna, Kay Webb of Oak Ridge; brother in law, Bill Halcomb of Lake City; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held March 20 in the Holley Gamble Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Harness officiating. Interment was in the Island Ford Cemetery with full military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard. Holley Gamble Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
