Anna Marie Hersperger was a daughter of Catharine (née Remsburg) and Heinrich "Henry" Hersperger, born in 1791 in Frederick County, Maryland.

Mary "Hershperger" and George Herring were married on 9 January 1812 in Middletown, Frederick County. George Herring died in 1837. According to Equity Court Records of Frederick County, George Herring's widow Mary (who had married Peter Boyer) gave testimony that her six surviving children with her late husband were (as of October 1839):
• Susannah, age 23 (wife of Zelophehad Duval)
• Ezra, age 21 (as of the previous December)
• Catharine, age 19
• Sarah, age 17
• William, age 15
• Daniel, age 8

Mary Herring and Peter "Boyle" were married on 12 March 1838 in Frederick County. Mary was elder sister of the former Catherine Hersperger, Peter Boyer's first wife. (No children from this marriage.) The couple resided in Frederick County. At first in the county's Adamstown District; later near Jefferson. Peter Boyer died in January 1861 in Jefferson. Mary died in April 1874 in Jefferson.
