Eunice E. Petesch, 78, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Lexington Park Nursing Home, Topeka. She was born on March 2, 1929, in Topeka, the daughter of Charles C., and Ida Marie (Meyer) Casto. Eunice grew up with a large family of 14 brothers and sisters. Eunice married Andrew Henry Petesch, on October 19, 1949. The couple lived near Meriden where they operated their family farm. Andrew passed away in 2002. Eunice worked in womens sales at both Ray Beers, and Crosby Department Stores. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Meriden, and was an avid bowler, enjoying countless hours of bowling at Gage Bowl North. Eunice is survived by; two children, Pamela FitzGerald, Topeka, and Vincent (Pam) Petesch, Meriden, Other survivors are; her grandchildren, April Gibbs, Kyna Croft, Kyle FitzGerald, Andy Petesch, and Adam Petesch, 5 great-grandchildren, two brothers; Glenn Casto of CO, Dale Casto of Topeka; two sisters, Wilma Adams of Topeka, and Darlene Van Pykerine of CA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, and numerous brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, with burial to follow at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Meriden. Mrs. Petesch will lie in state at the funeral home after 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, the family meeting with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., that evening.
