Neal Akers, son of the late Mr and Mrs Richard Taylor Akers, was born in Taylor county north of Gravity, Iowa, July 13, 1886 and passed away at Rosary hospital in Corning Tuesday afternoon Apr. 23, 1963 at the age of 76 years, 9 months, 10 days.

Jan, 27, 1S09, he was married to Elsie Piper. To this union were born two children, Merle of Gravity and Netha (Mrs Lester McKay) of Sharpsburg.

Most of his early life was spent on a farm north of Gravity. In 1947 he moved to Bedford where he spent the rest of his life until the last few months when he lived with his children.

He was preceded in death by his wife who died in 1956, also his father and mother, one sister, Lena French, one brother Herbert Akers, and one great grandson Randy Dean Akers.

He leaves to mourn his two children, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, also 3 sisters and 3 brothers, several nieces and nephews and many

friends,

He was a member of the Methodist Church at Sharpsburg.

The funeral was Apr. 26 at Bedford with burial at Gravity.
