18 Aug 2008: Gladys N. Barnyak, 87, of Pine Glen, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008 at home. Born in Snow Shoe on June 17, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Clinton and Irene Quick Cramer. On Nov. 18, 1939, in Snow Shoe, she married Samuel R. Barnyak, who died on Nov. 26, 2004. She was a 1938 graduate of Snow Shoe High School. She was a homemaker. Gladys was a member of the Snow Shoe United Methodist Church in Snow Shoe and in her later years, attended the Christian Alliance Church in Karthaus. She was dedicated to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Gladys is survived by four sons, Louis E. Barnyak, of Pine Glen, John E. Barnyak, of Keewayden, Robert F. Barnyak, of Bellefonte, and Scott P. Barnyak, of Pine Glen; three daughters, Phyllis M. Baker, of Boca Raton, Fla., Patricia L. Tate, of Piedmont, S.C., and Delores A. Milligan, of Somerville, Texas. Also surviving are her siblings, Cordes Cramer, of Moshannon and Mae Uzzell, of Snow Shoe. Her daughter, Mary Lou Barnyak, one brother and one sister, preceded her in death. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St. in Snow Shoe. The funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at the Christian Alliance Church in Karthaus, with Pastor Hiram Westover officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Askey Cemetery, Snow Shoe Township. [Centre Daily]
