Nettie Rachel Page Davenport was born in Palmyra, Lee County, Illinois, daughter of John Ham and Sarah Berry Jenness Page. She married Henry Snapp "Tip" Davenport, January 26, 1882, in Cambridge, Henry County, Illinois, and moved to ArKansas City with him as a new bride. They lived at 815 South A Street. She was appointed Licensed Indian Trader for the Kaw Indians upon Tip's death, in which capacity she remained until she had closed out Tip's business as Indian Trader. At the end of her life she moved from 815 South A Street to 1000 North A Street, the home of her daughter, Blanche, where she died, [Davenport Plot]
