"S. Knudson funeral set for Monday
Silas P. Knudson, 66, retired laborer of Jacob E. Decker and Sons, died Thursday evening at his home, 1450 1/2 N. Federal. He had lived in Mason City 22 years.
Mr. Knudson was born March 7, 1899, at Fergus Falls, Minn., son of Chris and Jenny Knudson. He attended elementary school at Fergus Falls. He was married to Zella Boster 19 Dec 1920.
They farmed in Iowa until 1935 and then moved to Hollandale, Minn., where they farmed until 1943. At that time they moved to Mason City and he began working in the kill department at Deckers. He retired last year.
Surviving are his wife; four sons, Donald, Georgetown, Canada; James, Silvis, Ill.; Bobby, U. S. Army in Germany, and Francis, Little Rock, Ark.; a daughter, Mrs. William (Lois) Brown, Moline, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; his mother, at Fergus Falls, Minn., and by 12 brothers and sisters (including Clarence, Clara (Lloyd) Peterson, Ganiella (Paul) Dalluge, Charlotte (Russell) Atkinson, Elizabeth, Alice Brotten, Kilredge, Chester, Hjalmer, Ida (Marvin) Loomer, and Eunice Konell). He was preceded in death by one son, Stanley, and a daughter in infancy [and sister, Theresa].
The funeral will be at 10 a. m. Monday at the Hogan-McKee Colonial Chapel. The Rev. David A. Anderson, assistant pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. Merle Dickinson will be soloist; Phyllis Dickinson, organist.
Burial will be in the Rose Lawn Cemetery at Moline, Ill. Visitation at the chapel will be from 3 p. m. Sunday until the time of services.
