James Rasmussen, 76, passed away early Thursday morning at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, after a lingering illness.
James Rasmussen was born in Odenfe, Denmark, May 2, 1882. He came to the United States in his early twenties.
He was united in marriage with Martha Allen in June 1911 at Lake City, Ia.
The Rasmussens moved to Dodge Center in 1913, making their home on a farm south west of town. In 1946 Mr. Rasmussen retired and moved to town making his home with his son Floyd and wife.
He is survived by his son Floyd and wife.
Mrs. Rasmussen passed away September 9, 1941.
He is also survived by five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Sept. 6. 1958, at 3 pm at the Faith Lutheran Church of Dodge Center. Rev. Marvin Nygaard officiating.
Interment was in Riverside Cemetery here.
Casket bearers were Walter Trapp, Martin Jorgensen, C. J. Woolson, Jake Rolfe, E. H. Unger and C. E. Schulz.
Arrangements were made by the Buckman Funeral Services.
