Roy Collinsworth, 76, of 6 Dumas, died today at Vale View Convalescent Center following an extended illness.
He was born in Salyersville, Ky., July 2, 1899 and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Collinsworth. On April 23, 1919 in Cattleburg, Ky., he married Berta Smith who survives. A resident of Valparaiso for 48 years, he was a retired employee of U. S. Steel with 29 years' service and was an honorary member of United Steelworkers of America.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jacqueline Scott of Valparaiso; son, Leroy of Edwardsburg, Mich.; sister, Mrs. Pearlie Greer of Jackson, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Wetmore Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert E. Leib officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday after 2 p.m.
