Born April 16, 1809 Died July 17, 1877, the son of Peter S. Danes and Nancy Jayne, husband of Elizabeth (Osborne) Danes and father of Elizabeth G. (married Thomas R. Gould), Nancy Abigail (married Jeremiah Mulford Osborn), Phebe F. and Hannah A. and Thomas N. Danes.

Peter worked for the town of Brookhaven as a Cooper (a repairer of barrels and casks).
