Mary (Star) P. Wright 1915 ~ 2007

Our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away at age 92 of natural causes on March 14, 2007 in the home of her oldest daughter, with Vickey by her side. Born April 7, 1915 to Ellen Areta Stevenson and Samuel Levi Pierson in Daniels, Idaho. Married to Arvil L. Cowdell 1933 in Sandy, UT. Married to Marvin Wright 1949 in Evanston, WY and later sealed in St. George LDS Temple. She worked at Kennecott Copper 1939-1946, drove 10-wheelers for Kearns Army Depot 1946-1948 and McDonald Douglas Aircraft 1957. She also did other jobs during her time with us: waitress, graduate of Cosmetology College, and worked as a beautician, she later retired from the LDS Archival Vaults in the Salt Lake City, UT area. She lived in Idaho, Utah, California, Wyoming and Hawaii.
Star enjoyed crocheting, making small woodwork novelties, and painting. She played the organ and the Hawaiian Guitar. She won trophies for ballroom dance and later organized a neighborhood watch in her area of White City, Sandy, UT.
Survived by two daughters: Vickey Bennett (Magna, UT); Pam Cowdell (Hewitt, TX); one son: Lamont Wright (Sandy, UT), nine grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren.

We, the family of Mary "Star" Wright, would like to extend our deepest and sincerest gratitude to the members of the Lakeridge 14th Ward in Magna, especially to the priesthood, the Relief Society, and deacons for all their loving, caring help given to Star and Vickey. We truly appreciate and are forever thankful that you were here when we needed you. Again, thank you.
