Elsa was born October 16, 1914, the fifth child of Henry George and Ane Marie Henrie Excell, and had a wonderful, happy childhood. Her upbringing was very strict and in the ways of the Mormon or LDS Church to which she belonged. She told us she always went to church in the white topped buggy, all ten kids and Mama and Dad and sometimes Grandma Henrie, who came to stay.
She first met her husband Orric in 1929 when she was walking to school with her sisters, he was working for her father at the time herding sheep. Later they were married at Junction, Utah (1932). They were both young Elsa 17, and Orric 18.
They had eight children, Beth, Melvin Orric, Joseph William, Isabel, Bobbie Marie, Earleen, Mary Ann and Olive Fay.
