Alfred was born in 1921 to Mike & Toni (Hurdt) Janson near Lastrup in Granite Township, Morrison county, MN. He grew up on the family farm there with his 9 siblings. As a teenager he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps. On June 5, 1945, he married Eva Meyer at St. Joseph's Church in Pierz. They lived on Eva's family farm in Agram Township until retiring to Pierz in 1979. Besides the farm, he also worked outside throughout his life for the Sioux Line Railroad, Larson Boatworks, Pierz Lumber Company and at the Genola Grain Elevator. Alfred loved dancing, playing cards and watching the Twins. I think another hobby of his was teasing!

Alfred was survived by 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and one sister-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his 9 siblings.
