The following well known citizens of Henry County have secured pensions for services rendered in the Mexican war 40 years ago: L.G. Palmer, W.H. Hollis, and A.J. Carpenter, of Mt. Pleasant, Charles Frederick, of Trenton, and G.M. Schooley, of Winfield. Dan Mallory, Solomon Holley, of Trenton, and Isaac Redfern, of New London will soon be added to the list. Col. N. Grensel and Capt. J.T. Drummond served in that war. They also served in the war of the Rebellion and draw pensions for that service.
