Death of Mrs. Wiseman.
Carrie S. Fowler was born in Canada in 1846 and in 1867 was married to John J. Wiseman. They and the family of her brother, A. W. Fowler, came west and settled in Dallas in 1889. Ten days ago she seemed in perfect health but was suddenly taken ill and passed away January 7th.

Her funeral was preached at the house yesterday by Rev. C. C. Polim.

She was a devoted and enthusiantic member of the Eastern Star, which order used their beautiful and impressive ceremony in laying her to rest.

The business houses were closed during the funeral as a mark of respect.

Her sister, Mrs Jobn Lewis, husband and two daughters were over from Salem. The bereaved husband and only daughter, Jessie, find some consolation the fact that she was universally esteemed as among the best of women. Her genial and generous disposition made friends of all with whom she came in contact. She sleeps beside her mother. Grandma McAfee, who made so many friends among us.
