DOWAGIAC -- Mrs. Bertha Bond Anthony, 79, of 310 New York Avenue, Dowagiac, died at 2:05 p.m. Thursday at Lee Memorial Hospital, Dowagiac. She was born Oct. 15, 1888 in Cass county, the daughter of Theodore and Eleanor Bond. On March 20, 1906 she was married to Warren J. Anthony Sr. who preceded her in death in 1954. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Walter (Theodora) Jenvey of Holt, Mrs. Wilbert (Marie) Gillete and Mrs. Henry (Elizabeth) Snyder of Dowagiac; three sons, Edward of Ventura, CA, Richard of Three Rivers, MI and Warren of Dowagiac; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was a member of the Federated Church, Charter Captain of the Samuel Felt D.A.R., Chapter Regent of the New England Women's Society, Cass County Historical Society, the VFW Auxiliary and the Cass County School for Retarded Children. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Federated Church with the Rev. Dixon Stimpson, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. Friends may call at the McLanchlin funeral home in Dowagiac. Memorials may he made to the church music fund.
