A son of Stephen and Parmelia Morphis. Shown in the 1880 census as being 26 years of age, with wife Parthenia--23, and daughters Sue (or Lue)--3, and Sallie--8 months. He is listed as being a farmer.
Thomas also worked as a blacksmith an was a justice of the peace. He and his wife Francis had a number of children two which are buried here in Wentworth Presbyterian Church yard
His wife Francis lived until May 1 1938 is buried at Buffalo Presbyterian Church in Greensboro (Guilford County), NC. He is also the grandfather of Wallace Morphis buried (unmarked grave) in the cemetery as well as the grandfather of Florence Talley buried here. His daughter Sallie (Combs) and son John are also buried here.
Thomas and Francis were married 24 Dec 1874, #8-867 Wentworth Township, Rockingham County, North Carolina.
