Rites Held For Emelia Flicker Tuesday

Mrs. Emelia Flicker passed away at her home in Pierz, 10 a.m., Thursday, after a month's illness due to a liver disturbance and a terminal lung congestion.

Emelia Weiss was born in Wisconsin on January 30, 1871, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Weiss, becoming seventy eight and a half years of age.

She married Michael Flicker at Pierz on November 27, 1888, and after one year at Durant, Wisconsin, they moved to the farm two and a half miles northeast of Pierz, living there until 1927, when they retired at their present home in the village. One year later Mr. Flicker passed away, February 22, 1928.

Among the surviving sons and daughters are: Frank, Glendale, California; Mrs. Nick Gross (Anna), Onamia; Mrs. Frank Preiner (Louise) and Mrs. Herbert Langer (Leona), Virginia, Minn.; Mrs. Frank Gruber (Theresia), Genola and Joseph, Henry, Alfred, Mike, Leo, Mrs. Christ Morrill (Lena) and Mrs. Jake Langer (Verena), all of this place. One son preceded the parents in death, and there are 50 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.

The Christian Mothers Society, of which Mrs. Flicker was a life-long member again convened in a body to attend the funeral at 10, Tuesday, St. Joseph's church, Pierz, to pay their final respects to her memory, before being laid to rest in the Pierz cemetery.

Monsignor Mahowald was the celebrant of the Solemn Requiem, with Fr. Birk, St. John's Lastrup, assisting as deacon and Fr. Boldt, the sub-deacon.

Included among the sisters that are surviving are: Mrs. Fred Rieke (Kate), Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Joe Kraemer (Anna), Maupin, Oregon; Mrs. Ornie Wanwick (Margaret), Duluth and Mrs. Ben Walerius (Elizabeth), Minneapolis.
