Dollie West Rose was born March 17, 1896, in Ardmore, Oklahoma (Carter County) the daughter of John Henry Rose and Sarah Ida "Mittie" Bryant. Dollie married John Teman Washburn, who was born November 13, 1892, in Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County), the second child of Reverend Bradford Abisha Washburn (1845-1904) and Sarah Augusta Jockisch (1864-1953). Dollie's siblings were Ora Pearl Rose born January 12, 1883; William Thomas Rose born January 1885; John Wesley Rose born 1887; Ollie Bessie Rose born September 1899; and Melva Lucille Rose, born 1907.

In 1900, Dollie, age 4, was living in Township 4, Indian Territory (Chickasaw Nation) with her father, age 40, ,a farmer; her mother, age 36; and three siblings: Ora, age 17; Willie, age 15; and Ollie Bessie, age 8 months. By 1920, Dollie, age 23, had married and was living in Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County) with her husband, John, age 27, and three children: Thomas Virgil, age 4; Alma Louise, age 2; and John W., age 10 months.

Dollie and John had six children, all born in Lexington: Thomas Virgil born September 16, 1915; Alma Louise born February 2, 1917; Dwight Dutch, born December 5, 1921; Mary born November 13, 1923; Kenneth Washburn born January 6, 1927; and Marland Dorr born January 17, 1935.

John died July 21, 1970 and was buried in the Lexington Cemetery. Dollie died on April 9, 1979 and was buried beside her husband.
