Galena, Kan., Feb., 23. Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Orlena Jenkins, 64 years old, who died at 9:10 o'clock this morning at the home of a son, Leonard Jenkins, Twenty-first and Main streets, are incomplete.

Mrs. Jenkins had been ill several weeks. She suffered a relapse Monday when her house at Twenty-fourth and Short street caught fire. She was removed from her home to the home of her son, where she died. Death resulted from heart disease.

Mrs. Jenkins had resided in Galena about forty-five years. Her husband, Robert (sic) [George 'Bob'] Jenkins, died here in August, 1911.

Surviving are five sons, Roy Jenkins and Floyd Jenkins of Okmulgee, Okla., Joe Jenkins, at home, and Leonard Jenkins and Harvey Jenkins of Galena; two daughters, Mrs. Roy Bender of Baxter Springs route 3 and Mrs. Vernon Wood of Galena; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Note: Her husband was George Washington 'Bob' Jenkins, Jr., he went by Bob, thus having it formalized into incorrect name of Robert.

WOMAN DIES AFTER
HER HOME BURNS


Galena, Kan., Feb. 23.—Mrs. Robert (sic) [George 'Bob'] Jenkins, 64 years old, died at 9:10 o'clock this morning at the home of her son, Leonard Jenkins, Twenty-first and Main streets, with whom she had been staying since Monday when her home at Twenty-fourth and Short streets was damaged by fire. Mrs. Jenkins had been ill about two months.

Surviving are four other sons, Joe Jenkins, at home; Harve Jenkins of Galena, Roy and Floyd Jenkins of Okmulgee, Okla., and two daughters, Mrs. Vernon Woods of Galena and Mrs. Roy Bender of Monarch, Kan.

Funeral plans are incomplete.

She at some point changed it to Orlena, but went by Reenie, Reanie or other spelling.

Her home was at 24th & Short St.

The daughter of Lewis & Francis Ledbetter Click Spears. Francis later married Lee, then Alexander. Lewis Spears had 1st married Rebecca P. Applegate. Both Lewis and Francis had children with 1st spouse, then together. Francis never had children with later spouses. It's unknown if they had previous marriages or children.
